Back to the Future: Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd’s 37-year reunion brings fans to tears

The famous duo who played Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown in the hit 1985 sci-fi trilogy film Back To The Future appeared at the New York Comic Con. Their reunion occurred exactly 37 years after the first installment of the cult blockbuster series was released. The 61-year-old actor Michael J Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991, was the first to take the stage, pausing to play air guitar in tribute to Marty’s moves from the first film. But the applause reached new heights when he was joined by 83-year-old Christopher Lloyd.

When the two legendary actors shared a warm embrace in front of the audience, it enraged everyone. Meanwhile, fans took to their respective social media handles to express their emotions following the iconic moment. “If you were a teenager in 1985, Michael J. Fox was your guy,” one of them wrote. Marty McFly from Back to the Future is the coolest adolescent in film history.

Fox revealed on the forum about his Parkinson’s disease, “Parkinson’s is the gift that keeps on giving but it’s a gift, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” People like Chris, and so many of you, have been extremely helpful to me. It’s not about what I have; it’s about what I’ve been given  the ability to speak up and help others.”

Back to the Future takes place in 1985. Marty McFly (Fox) was a teenager who was accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Emmett “Doc” Brown (Lloyd).

Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents from falling in love, threatening his existence, and is forced to reconcile the couple and return to the future. Back to the Future was a critical and commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film worldwide in 1985.
