Bobby East was an American professional car racing driver. He competed in NASCAR, ARCA, and USAC racing and participated in Ford’s driver development program while working for the latter two of those firms.

Bobby East Early Life
Bobby East was born in Torrance, California, on December 17, 1984, and grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana. East made racing history when he became the youngest driver to ever win a significant USAC National Midget competition at the age of 16.
East was best known in the US Auto Club (USAC) for his three victories. In addition, he won the SAC Silver Crown in 2012 and 2013. He was also known as Bob East’s son, a USAC Hall of Fame vehicle builder. Unfortunately, East was stabbed to death on July 13, 2022, at the age of 37, at a gas station in California.
Bobby East Racing Career
East made racing history in 2001 when he became the first driver to win a major USAC National Midget competition. In 2004, he won the series at the age of 19. East raced in the USAC National Midget Series on a regular basis for Steve Lewis Racing, where he won the champions league in 2004. East was the most successful driver in 2004 with 15 victories across the three divisions of the USAC series. The Hut Hundred and the Turkey Night Grand Prix were the season’s highlights. Team Lewis finished first overall in his No. 9 vehicle.

Brewco Motorsports’ East raced in the Busch Series on a part-time basis in 2007. Following a change in ownership during the season, Brewco became Baker Curb Racing. East finished 23rd in points despite losing the first two races of the season.
East returned to the Truck Series on a part-time basis in 2008, partnering with Roush once more to drive their No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford F-150, which won the race’s pole at IRP. He was tasked with preparing the race in Carl Edwards’ Nationwide (previously Busch) Series No. 60 car for the race in Memphis, the same circuit where he had made his racing debut three years earlier.
Following the season, he announced his retirement from NASCAR, making this race his final appearance in the series.

Bobby East Causes of Death
East was fatally stabbed to death on the 13th of July, 2022 by a man who was wanted on a parole violation warrant. After being hunted down at a neighboring Anaheim apartment, the man was shot and murdered by Orange County police.
