The Golden Buzz: Unforgettable Moments On Britain Got Talent

Audience members from Britain’s Got Talent’s audition stages have spoken out after viewers spotted a ‘flaw’ in the show’s latest ‘rule break’. Simon Cowell was back on the ITV talent show Saturday night (May 20), and after last weekend’s episode featured a ‘first,’ it appears he didn’t want to be left out. Bruno caused Tonioli drama and surprised viewers when he claimed a second Golden Buzzer act ahead of the live semi-finals in a move that Simon joked could “get him fired.” He pressed his buzzer for singer Gamal John, who performed James Brown’s It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World.

The show later posted the Clip of John’s performance on Twitter.

As the audience chanted for the Golden Buzzer to be pressed, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly clarified that they couldn’t because it had already been pressed for other acts. But, despite being unfamiliar with the rules, new judge Bruno threw caution to the wind and pressed his Golden Buzzer for the second time this series, becoming the first judge on the show to receive two Golden Buzzer acts. “I have to do it,” he exclaimed, leaping between Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Gamal was able to keep his place in the live shows, but he wasn’t showered in golden confetti like the other buzzer recipients because they had all been used. However, Ant and Dec rushed onto the stage after discovering some confetti cannons backstage and dousing Gamal and his son. This is why BGT viewers believe they saw a ‘flaw’ on Saturday night (May 20). The hosts, Ant and Dec, were left speechless as Simon broke his own rules. The episode’s final performance featured Unity, a dance group comprised of members nationwide.

Throughout their routine, the group shared various personal stories and experiences about growing up outside of societal norms. Bruno described his performance as “simply superb,” while Simon admitted it was an “audition he’d never forget.” At this point, the crowd began chanting ‘Golden Buzzer,’ prompting Simon to admit, “We don’t have any golden buzzers yet, but sometimes I feel you should just break the rules.”

The judge proudly rose from his seat and slammed the golden buzzer, showering gold confetti on the performers as the audience applauded. Dec then inquired, “What’s going on?” “Do we get another one now?” laughed Ant, “I hope so!”

What Was The Viewres Reaction?

As some people complained about the different buzzers used in this series, one audience member revealed the “truth.” “Yeah, unity,” said @ItsCloeMoe, “we, the audience, weren’t told there were no golden buzzers left, and it was so unexpected that they had to redo the golden buzzer because they weren’t recording #BGT.”

The error was discovered after @shannonconnor1x tweeted: “@BGT if you didn’t have any Golden buzzers left, why was there gold paper ready to fall?” #bgt

@TheWorldOfOlly posted: “So. Is it just me thinking that they won’t fill up the golden confetti when @BGT has no golden buzzers left? However, when it was the ‘unexpected’ golden buzzer, the confetti was waiting and prepared when it wasn’t last week. Hmmm. #BGT.”
