ESPN’s College GameDay, the pregame show for college football games, revealed its first 2022 destination on Wednesday: Columbus, Ohio.
This week’s game between Notre Dame and Ohio State will be broadcast live on ESPN’s GameDay. At 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 3, the game will take place at Ohio Stadium.
The Buckeyes and the Fighting Irish are two perennial contenders, with a combined six appearances in the College Football Playoff between them. As a result, their 2022 campaigns will be even more critical than they were last year.

In 2021, Ohio State’s offence was explosive, but the Buckeyes’ defence could not keep up. The Buckeyes finished the season with a record of 11–2 after losing to Oregon and Michigan but ended it with a victory over Utah in the Rose Bowl. Jaxon Smith-Njigba and C.J. Stroud return to Columbus, ready to lead Ryan Day’s programme.
Notre Dame finished the year with an 11–2 record but missed out on the playoffs after losing to Cincinnati in the middle of the season.
However, at the end of the season, Brian Kelly announced that he would be leaving the team for LSU. Marcus Freeman, the defensive coordinator hired as Kelly’s successor, will now be responsible for getting the team back into the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years.
