Denzel Washington’s upcoming and final Italian journey as Robert McCall is teased in the first grand poster for The Equalizer 3. Washington made his acting debut as McCall in Antoine Fuqua’s loose film adaptation of the same-named 1980s TV series, The Equalizer, released in 2014.
Washington and Fuqua are set to work together again for a third movie, which will move the action from the United States to Italy, following a sequel in 2018. The Equalizer 3’s first poster, which confirms that Denzel Washington will be portraying the role for the last time, has been made public.
The first poster for The Equalizer 3, which will be released in September, has just been released by Sony Pictures, who also confirmed that it will be Washington’s “Final Chapter” in the franchise. View the most recent poster below:

Washington’s final performance as McCall is confirmed on the poster, which also clearly emphasizes the sequel’s new Italian setting and teases that “Justice knows no borders.” The Colosseum and the Italian flag are prominently displayed on the poster, and McCall is even compared to the Lady Justice statue, which is his exact opposite.
Denzel Washington Confirms the Equalizer 3 is Final Movie of the Series
It was a significant departure for the franchise for The Equalizer 3 to take place in Europe as the first and second movies were set in and around Massachusetts.
The official description for The Equalizer 3 has already hinted at the real reason McCall is in Europe, saying that the ex-assassin has found some measure of serenity in his new residence in Southern Italy.
Naturally, this tranquility is short-lived because McCall soon learns that the Italian mafia is in control of his neighborhood buddies, which prompts him to take action once more.
The cast of The Equalizer 3 alone should be enough to have you eager for the next sequel, aside from that rather straightforward but effective idea. Following their previous collaboration in 2004’s Man on Fire, Dakota Fanning, and Denzel Washington will reunite in the movie.
David Denman, Sonia Ammar, Eugenio Mastrandrea, Gaia Scodellaro, Remo Girone, and Andrea Scarduzio round up the remaining cast members in The Equalizer 3. The Equalizer 3 is expected to contain the same level of vicious violence as its predecessors because Fuqua is returning to direct the picture.

Washington’s brutal precision and keen attention to detail are, after all, defining characteristics of his character. Although there are still many unanswered mysteries around The Equalizer 3, Sony’s statement also confirms that the movie’s first trailer will debut tomorrow, which should give viewers a better idea of what to expect from McCall’s final journey.
Washington discussed how the Italy-set Equalizer 3 will mark the final time he portrays black operations agent-turned-vigilante Robert McCall on the big screen in an exclusive first look in Empire on the filmmaker Antoine Fuqua’s threequel. Washington said:
“I don’t want to say he’s found happiness, and I don’t want to give it all away, but he meets someone lovely, he’s in a lovely town and he seems to be at peace, That seems to be a good place to stop. I didn’t know that there were going to be three. Definitely didn’t know that when we did the first one. I didn’t know how it would end.”
In his more than 40-year acting career, Washington has only had one film franchise, The Equalizer. Washington plays McCall, a lethal force of nature, in Tony Scott’s 2004 thriller Man on Fire, which is based on the legendary CBS series starring Edward Woodward that aired from 1985 to 1989.
Fuqua, the director of the Equalizer series, agreed with Washington that the trilogy should be wrapped up appropriately. Join us on Twitter if you want to read more articles on upcoming television and film premieres.
