The series, created by Hank Steinberg and partially based on the true life of Isaac Wright Jr., was first shown in February 2020. During his detention, he was wrongly imprisoned and worked to defend the innocence of some detainees, launching his career as an attorney.

IS FOR LIFE RENEWED FOR SEASON 3?

No, after only two seasons, For Life has been officially cancelled.

There has been no news about the series being relaunched since the official announcement. If viewers want to see For Life again in the future, they’ll have to settle for repeat viewings.

It had a black cloud hanging over it since the season 2 premiere, which may have contributed to its cancellation. According to Variety, only 1.9 million people watched the first episode of the show’s return.

This was the lowest viewership the series had ever had at the time. Of course, as the series progresses, the number of viewers drops. The audience for subsequent shows was only 1.8 million on average.

CAN FOR LIFE BE SAVED?

As things stand, another network picking up the show for a second season is quite improbable.

There have already been attempts to preserve it, with IMDb TV — a free streaming service on Amazon Prime Video – securing a deal to stream both seasons in the hopes of increasing interest in more episodes.

Unfortunately, this did not work out, and they chose not to pursue it further.

“I am in no way bitter with ABC for not renewing For Life for a third season,” Nicholas Pinnock said, thanking the network for their support of the project.

The network has been “nothing but supportive of our show, and has championed it from the beginning,” he said.
