Government workers from the United States in Tijuana have been told to stay inside as violence spreads across Baja California.

The U.S. Consulate in Tijuana issued a statement on Friday night advising U.S. government personnel to remain indoors while authorities in Mexico investigate allegations of multiple vehicle fires, roadblocks, and police activity.

Friday night saw the beginning of reports of violence in the border cities of Tijuana, Rosarito, Ensenada, and Tecate. People were urged to stay away from the locations, seek shelter if they couldn’t leave, and stay tuned to the news for updates.
