Invincible season 2 release date

There’s no word yet on when Invincible season 2 will be available on Prime Video or Amazon Studios.

The second season of Invincible was announced on April 29, 2021, along with the third season. Head writer Simon Racioppa says the two seasons have been in development for a longer time than fans might think.

invincible season 2

Racioppa told TechRadar exclusively: “We’ve been working on it for a while.” “We’re putting in a lot of effort. For the most part, Robert [Kirkman, the other co-creator of Invincible] is working on it, and the same is true for me. We’ve already begun discussing it. For as long as I can remember, we’ve been working on this project. It’s a major event.”

“Comicbookmovie.com is working on Invincible season 2,” Racioppa explained “I’m confident that you’ll be pleased with the outcome. I’d like to think so. Everybody wants to see it, and so does everyone else. We’re in the thick of it. I wish it had already been completed and finished, but it’s just not the case at the moment. We’re well into the process now.”

Steven Yeun, who portrays series protagonist Mark Grayson, told Collider (in January 2022) that he hadn’t yet started recording lines for Invincible’s second season. This is odd. There’s still a lot of work to be done on season 2 if that hasn’t changed by now.

Although J.K. Simmons had previously stated that the cast would be entering the recording booth soon, he has since stated that season 2 will begin soon.

Simmons said, “I think I’m allowed to say that we’re going back to work in the recording booth very soon. “Our first recordings were made months or even years ago, so it’s clear that we have a long way to go before the animation is finished. However, I can confirm that Invincible is ramping up production and that Season 2 is on the horizon. That’s a great term for being vague.”

Yeun’s comments came at the same time as Skybound announced that veteran animation producer Marge Dean had joined the company as its new Head of Animation. With his previous credits including Gen: Lock for HBO, Robot Chicken for Adult Swim, and The Ricky Gervais Show for Channel 4, Dean will “immediately focus” on Invincible seasons 2 and 3.

This could mean that the development of the game will speed up now that Dean has been installed in her new position. Season 2 of Invincible will most likely premiere in early 2023, at least based on a tweet from the show’s official Twitter account. However, that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

A virtual panel for the first season of Invincible, which you can watch on YouTube, was held in July 2021, and Kirkman refused to speculate on the release date of season 2. In addition, when asked about his possible involvement in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Zombies animated project, Kirkman revealed (in November 2021) that he was “happily very busy working on other stuff.” With any luck, the second season of Invincible will be included in his “other stuff.”

Invincible season 2 cast

Nothing’s been confirmed yet (outside of Yeun’s return), but we’d expect the actors named below to reprise their roles from season 1:

Other actors may return as well.

Season 1’s Robot was voiced by Zachary Quinto, but it’s not clear if he’ll be back for season 2. Robot, as revealed in the first season, was Rudy Conners’ artificial host body. Rudy had genetic defects that initially prevented him from surviving outside of his saline tank. When Ross Marquand was cast as Rudy in episode 7, Rudy’s consciousness was transferred into his new clone body.

We don’t know for sure if Quinto will be back, so However, we don’t know yet if those events will be a part of Invincible season 2, season 3, or any other future season.

Some of the others who may return include Chris Diamantopoulos (Doc Seismic), Fred Tatasciore (Kill Cannon), Ezra Miller (D.A. Sinclair), and Michael Dorn (Battle Beast and Thokk). Some of the characters mentioned by Kirkman (more on this below) have hinted at their return, but we don’t know yet who will.

According to Kirkman, he would like to see more of the cast of AMC’s The Walking Dead show return in future seasons. Many other Walking Dead actors and actresses have already been cast in various roles, but Kirkman wants more of the show’s biggest stars to lend their voices to the project.

ComicBook.com spoke with Kirkman and he said: “On The Walking Dead, there isn’t a single actor I wouldn’t like to work with again. This is an incredible cast. Anyone from Andrew Lincoln to Norman Reedus to Melissa McBride to Jeffery Dean Morgan is welcome in my house.”

Invincible season 2 plot

There will be major spoilers for both the animated series and the graphic novels below.

Although it’s enjoyable, the comic book series can be a little confusing at times. However, we already have an idea of what Invincible season 2 will entail. There are numerous possibilities for Invincible season 2. Based on the season 1 finale and some hints from the series’ official Twitter account, this is what we know so far.

First, let’s talk about the season finale of Invincible. When Omni-Man realized that he couldn’t kill Mark and enslave humanity for the Viltrumite Empire, he wept as he left Earth for an unknown destination.

This plotline should be continued in Season 2. On Earth, Mark will be responsible for protecting the planet from the invading Viltrumites as well as helping to stop them from expanding their empire across all of space. With Allen the Alien’s warning, Mark already knows that a fleet is coming, and we can expect their friendship to grow in season 2.

We should also look into the disappearance of Omni-Man/Nolan. When Nolan flees Earth to join the Viltrum Empire, he thinks it will make up for leaving his post behind on Earth. More can be said about Mark and Nolan’s relationship in the TV show, which has been extensively explored in the comics as well. So, for the time being, we’ll just say we’d like to see some of Simmons’ son Nolan back in action in the upcoming campaign.

Season 2 should also see the show venture into the cosmos. There will be strange worlds, strange characters, and a story that spans the entire universe that is brought to life on the big screen.

The final episode of Season 1 hinted at other potential storylines for Season 2. The Sequids saga hasn’t been officially concluded, so we should see more of it. One of the human astronauts swapped bodies with a Martian, so we know he’s on our planet now. The Sequids have also taken control of the astronaut who was left behind on Mars, which could be bad news for Earth if this parasitic race decides to make its way to our planet.

The stories of Titan and Battle Beast may also get fleshed out. Until recently, the pair had taken over Machine Head’s criminal organization and teleported away from Earth. Kirkman has already hinted that fan-favorite Battle Beast will get more screen time in season 2. Their stories continue in the comics. Despite Omni-destruction Man’s of their planet in episode 2, the Flaxans appear to be returning.

One interesting tidbit of information involves plot points that were never included in the Invincible comic run. According to Kirkman, he hopes to incorporate storylines that couldn’t fit into the comic books into the TV show. Damien Darkblood, who was sent back to Hell by Cecil Stedman in episode 4, is one example cited by Kirkman. It’s still unclear if this will be included in season 2.

Last but not least, it has been confirmed by the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, that Angstrom Levy will be a major character in season 2.

As a result of this announcement, Kirkman reaffirmed that Levy will be a part of season 2.

I can’t say when the second season of Invincible will be out, but I can tell you that it’s going to happen “He [Levy] has a way of causing a stir. If you’ve read the comics or watched the TV show, you’ll have a good idea of where we’re going with the second season if you reflect on how we adapted the story in the first season.”

Some “crazy stuff coming” was Kirkman’s other tease for the TV show’s audience, while Jason Mantzoukas revealed his excitement for the upcoming return of the comic series’ intergalactic elements in season 2.

Invincible Season 2 Trailer

Season 2 of Invincible has yet to receive an official trailer. We believe it will be out soon. Listed below is a trailer for the first season of the television series Invincible. On the 19th of February 2021, Amazon Prime Video made it available for streaming. Please join us for a viewing of it.

How many seasons will Invincible get?

Kirkman and Walker worked on Invincible for 15 years, producing 144 issues. The first eight episodes of the TV adaptation rearranged some plot points, but only covered the first 23 issues. Invincible may end around season 7 or 8 if future seasons follow the same path.

It is possible, however, that Kirkman’s estimate is incorrect. ScreenRant quoted him as saying that a “rough roadmap for where things from the comics will fall” exists. It could continue for five, seven, or even ten years, Kirkman told Inverse. So, what if our supply of comic books runs out?

Invincible could run for at least five seasons, if not more, thanks to the enthusiasm of its creator, Robert Kirkman. Amazon would be making a mistake by ending the series after three seasons if the audience wants more. However, the success of Invincible in its next two seasons will have a significant impact on this outcome.

If Amazon’s live-action adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s The Boys is a hit, there’s no reason why Invincible season 2 can not follow suit and become a long-running series for many years to come.
