Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania marked the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of M.O.D.O.K., who was revealed to be Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) from the first Ant-Man film. The character was defeated by Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), sucked into the Quantum Realm, and repurposed by Kang (Jonathan Majors) into the Mechanical Organism Designed Only For Killing.
According to Comicbookmovie.com, During the Blu-ray audio commentary for his film, director Peyton Reed confirmed that M.O.D.O.K. would be introduced in future Marvel Studios productions, as had been previously rumored. “MODOK has been patiently waiting. I’m aware that ‘How do you bring him in?’ has been a topic of discussion for other Marvel films. “We discussed Kang’s need for, if not a henchman, at least information regarding the Pyms, the Langs, and the Van Dynes,” Reed reveals that he came up with the concept of making Cross a version of the antagonist, which writer Jeff Loveness enthusiastically supported.
