OnePlus 11: Release Date, Cost, Specs, Features, and More Information!

In 2022, OnePlus surprised many of us by not releasing a standard version of the OnePlus 10, instead opting for the OnePlus 10 Pro. What does this have to do with the OnePlus 11?

Rumours have already suggested a similar setup, with only one phone so far. However, the naming may be reversed this time, with no Pro to speak of. Here’s everything we know about the OnePlus 11.

When will the OnePlus 11 be Released?

OnePlus has not stated when the 11 or 11 Pro will be available. However, early 2023 would be a good guess – OnePlus typically launches flagships in the spring, and the OnePlus 10 Pro was revealed in China as early as January 2022.

However, we may see it even sooner. According to Digital Chat Station, the next OnePlus flagship will be released “at the end of the year” (machine translated from Chinese), which makes sense. The phone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is expected to be released in November, a few weeks earlier than usual, to give Chinese phone manufacturers time to get products to market before the Chinese New Year sales season in January.

That’s just China though. If we look at the previous global release schedules for the numbered OnePlus flagships (not counting the ‘T’ models, which launch later in the year), it works out like this:

  • OnePlus 10 Pro – March 2022
  • OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro – March 2021
  • OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro – April 2020

So, if OnePlus sticks to its new schedule, the OnePlus 11 and/or 11 Pro will be available globally in March 2023, but it could arrive in China as early as December 2022.

How much will the OnePlus 11 Cost?

As there’s no confirmation from OnePlus yet about pricing, we’ll use the previous models to put us in the picture. Here’s the pricing of the last few flagships:

  • OnePlus 10T – $649/£629/€699
  • OnePlus 10 Pro – $899/£799/€899
  • OnePlus 9 – $729/£629/€699
  • OnePlus 9 Pro – $999/£829/€899
  • OnePlus 8T – $649/£549/€649

If OnePlus only offers a Pro model for the 11-series, we can expect it to be similar to the price of the current 10 Pro; otherwise, we can expect something more affordable, similar to the OnePlus 10T. However, the global chip shortage, as well as the disruptions to manufacturing and distribution caused by Covid and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, are all beginning to drive up prices.

What Features and Specs will we see in the OnePlus 11?

There have been few concrete leaks about the OnePlus 11 series thus far, but details are starting to emerge.

The name is the first thing to notice. OnePlus launched the 10 Pro without a number in 2022, and all leaks this year point to a repeat, with a single phone boasting Pro-level specs. However, leakers Max Jambor and OnLeaks have suggested that the naming will change this time, with the phone set to be called the OnePlus 11, despite having specs comparable to the company’s Pro phones.

OnLeaks’ renders, based on a “early prototype,” reveal a few key details. First and foremost, the phone includes the alert slider and Hasselblad branding found on the 10 Pro but absent from the 10T from last autumn.

A new camera module, a circular design that retains the wraparound element introduced in the 10 Pro, is also visible. It should come as no surprise that three cameras and a flash are included.

OnLeaks has since collaborated with another site, 91Mobiles, to share more specifics. The most important difference is that the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which has always seemed like a safe bet – it’s set to be Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset and will power most high-end Android phones in the first half of 2023.

He also predicts the return of the 6.7in 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, an increase to up to 16GB of RAM, and a large 5000mAh battery with 100W fast charging – oddly slower than the OnePlus 10T’s 150W speeds.

OnLeaks predicts that the punch-hole selfie camera will be 16Mp, while the rear three lenses will be a 50Mp main camera, 48Mp ultrawide, and 32Mp 2x telephoto – which has since been confirmed by leaker Digital Chat Station, who also shared camera specs for the Oppo Find X6.
