Nvidia RTX 4000 Release Date Predictions
The 4000 chipsets haven’t been officially announced by Nvidia yet, so there’s no word on when it’ll be available. However, there are some hints that these will appear in 2022.
In the first place, Nvidia has a track record of regularly launching new architectures. In 2020, the Ampere-based 3000 series was released. There had been Turing-based GPUs for two years before this.
Lovelace (the name given to the new architecture for the 4000 series) is expected to be released in September by well-respected leaker Greymon55. However, the RDNA 3 cards’ release date is still uncertain.
After reading this tweet, Greymon55 reacted by saying that the RTX 4000 series could follow a similar release order to that of the Ampere’, which would suggest that the RTX 4090 and 4080 will be released first, followed by the RTX 4070 later on.
Twitter user RetiredEngineer referred to a report from the DigiTimes in his tweets. The year 2022 is also mentioned in this article as a possible release date. Also in Q3 of 2022, kopite7kimi predicts the arrival of the 4090, 4080, and 4070 CUDA GPUs. If this is accurate, then the release window may be from July to September.
For those keeping track of the third quarter, well-known leaker kopite7kimi has hinted recently at an ‘early Q3’ release, which could imply that we see cards sooner rather than later in the quarter. It’s believed that the most popular cards will be the most expensive ones when they go on sale.
But according to WCCFTech, Nvidia may have delayed the release date of the RTX 4090 until October 2022 instead of September, and the rest of the cards will be released one month at a time until CES 2023 when the RTX 4060 will be unveiled.
According to WCCFTech’s source, the RTX 4000 series cards’ release date has been delayed by one month. Nvidia may want to sell as many of the RTX 3000 series cards as they can before they release the new ones, thus this excuse is given.

Retailers are concerned that they won’t be able to make a profit on their excess supply of RTX 3000 series cards. It’s possible that TSMC would postpone shipment of the RTX 4000 series by a quarter, which would indicate a further delay in the launch date of the new graphics cards, even though Nvidia has already committed to the chipmaker and dropped Samsung.
Until Nvidia releases an official statement, we should take this information with a grain of salt. However, it appears that the second half of 2022 will be the most likely timeframe.
