Potionomics Gameplay
Potionomics is a hybrid of a deck-building game and a business management game. It is your job as a potion maker to create potions that you can sell to your customers. Potion making entails combining ingredients in a cauldron and boiling them.
Each ingredient contains a specific amount of magimins, which are classified into five types. When making potions, players must ensure that the magimins inside the cauldron match the ratios required for the potions. A perfect ratio improves the quality of the potions, whereas an extremely imbalanced ratio degrades the quality.
After creating these potions, you will be able to sell them. It is not as simple as simply displaying them and receiving payment for their worth. To raise the price of your potion, you must bargain. This is where the game’s deck-building component comes into play.
Haggling is played as a deck-building game, with the player and the customer taking turns haggling. Increasing the customer’s interest in your potion will result in an increase in the amount of money they are willing to pay.
Of course, you aren’t confined to your potion shop all day. You can also wander around town, visiting various shops and NPCs. These establishments sell potion ingredients, equipment, and even shop upgrades. You can also make friends with some of the NPCs you meet while selling potions.
You can improve your relationship with them by hanging out with them and giving them gifts. Every time you do, they give you new cards to add to your deck, which will aid you in your negotiations. Not only that, but you can even flirt with some of them!
