Is Renée Zellweger’s Plastic Surgery A Rumor Or A Fact?

October 31st, 2022 Hollywood treats elderly female celebrities with disdain. That, on the other hand, is old news. Many people do not anticipate a strong reaction or an ugly debate from the general public. Unfortunately, Oscar winner Renée Zellweger had to deal with this after a simple red-carpet appearance.

The internet erupted over Renée Zellweger’s (rumored) plastic surgery, with many outraged that Bridget Jones no longer resembled the beloved Bridget Jones. So, what caused the star’s face to change so drastically? Check out the following paragraph.

When Did Zellweger’s Plastic Surgery Rumors Begin?

While the show was still on hiatus, the Case 39 star attended the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in 2014. She was 45 at the time, and her most recent public appearance was when she was 41. Many believed that the Hollywood A-lister had undergone surgery during those four years.

Even major publications couldn’t get enough of Zellweger’s new look. People yelled at her and cried, wondering why she would ever do such a thing to her face. Even the strongest would falter under such scrutiny. Despite this, Renée kept a brave face.

“I’m glad folks think I look different,” she told People magazine in 2014. I’m living a different, happier, more fulfilling life, and I’m excited that it’s showing.” She called the debate around her face “silly.” “People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while,” she added. Maybe I look different. Who doesn’t as they age?! Ha. But I’m not like that. “I’m content.”

Now, there’s something else you should be aware of. Although Zellweger first made headlines in 2014, people made fun of her squint or pouting for a long time before that.

What Surgeries Was Zellweger Rumoured To Have Had?

The following is a list of all of the alleged surgical procedures that Renée has undergone:

Eyelid Surgery:

Everyone was drawn to the actress’s eyes. In Texas, beautiful hooded eyes were born. Her upper eyelids are wrinkle-free.
Everyone assumed she had blepharoplasty to remove upper eyelid skin and fat after her appearance at the awards ceremony. That made it hollower and her eyes stand out more.

“The ‘eye surgery’ tabloid story itself did not matter,” Zellweger wrote in the Huffington Post in 2016, “but it became the catalyst for my inclusion in subsequent legitimate news stories about self-acceptance and women succumbing to social pressure to look and age a certain way.”

Wajahat Ali Tweeted about the criticism Renee Zellweger had to go through. You can see the Tweet below.

Browlift:
The Chicago actress’s brows appeared higher, implying she had a brow lift and eyelid surgery. She was chastised prior to 2014. Eyebrow lifts lift sagging brows (something that happens with aging). It also tightens the skin on the forehead, reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

Fillers:
Zellweger’s cheeks have long been compared to chipmunks. They blamed plastic surgery (even though fillers aren’t genetic). Some claim to have had cheek implants or fat grafting. She may have also had jawline fillers.

Botox:
Botox inhibits the transmission of nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. The recipient of the Golden Globe reportedly had Botox injections in her forehead in order to lessen the appearance of wrinkles. Again, I find that hard to believe.

How Did Renée Zellweger React To Rumors Of Plastic Surgery?

As was mentioned earlier, the actress gave an interview with People magazine in which she stated that the changes in her lifestyle were the cause of the noticeable differences in the appearance of her face. She had improved her physical fitness. On the other hand, in 2016, she published a response to the bullying in the form of an open letter titled “We Can Do Better.”

“Not that it’s anyone’s business,” she said, “but I did not decide to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes.” “It’s no secret that a woman’s worth has historically been measured by her appearance,” she continued, referring to gender double standards.

“The resulting message is problematic for younger generations and impressionable minds, and it undoubtedly sets in motion a slew of subsequent issues concerning conformity, prejudice, equality, self-acceptance, bullying, and health.”

She addressed the rumors of her plastic surgery once more in a 2019 interview with Vulture, saying, “that makes me sad.” During another interview, she said she overheard some train passengers discussing her face and wondering why she would do something like that, even going so far as to call her “stupid.” It was difficult for her to go through something like this.
