Winter 2022 is bringing a plethora of anime to the table, and there are some that you should definitely not miss! We need to talk about Requiem of the Rose King, which premieres in January 2022. Originally serialized in Monthly Princess, the series by Aya Kanno began its run in 2013. Exactly one week before the start of the anime, the manga ended.
The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest, the next anime adaptation of The Requiem of the Rose King, will be produced by J C Studios, the same studio behind How the Realist Hero Rebuilt His Kingdom.

What is The Requiem of the Rose King About?
As the War of the Roses rages, the Crown of England is put to the test. To dethrone Henry VI and take his throne, the Duke of York sets up the House of York against the House of Lancaster.
Soon later, the Duke sees the birth of his son. Richard Plantagenet, the son of a woman who refuses to recognize or recognize his intersex identity, grows up in the shadow of his mother’s disapproval. In the course of the novel, he develops a complicated connection with his body, which is often fraught with hatred and misunderstanding.
As he tries to deal with the threat of enemies in his visions of Joan of Arc, England’s villain, he struggles to build a life for himself, meeting friends and foes along the way. Assisting his father’s aspirations and his own dreams for the throne bring him peace of mind.
An adaption of Shakespeare’s Richard III is featured in the story Makoto Furukawa sings the opening theme, “I’m Obsessed with Roses,” and Zaq sings the closing theme, “Nightmare.”

What will be the Requiem of the Rose King’s release date?
The premiere of The Requiem of the Rose King has been arranged by various broadcasters. On January 9th, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto aired the premiere. The first episode of BS11 will air on January 11th.
The anime will be shown in two separate seasons, which will last for the better part of the year. The manga will be adapted into 10-14 episodes for each of the four seasons. The Requiem of the Rose King was originally scheduled to be released in July 2021, however, it was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The anime is now showing on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. For the Winter 2022 anime season, Funimation has also stated that all of the episodes would be made available on the site over time!

The film’s director is Kentaro Suzuki. As a writer and producer, Hiroki Uchida is responsible for the overall direction of the film. While Chikara Hashizunme is in charge of the characters’ design and Kentoaro Izumi is in charge of artwork and color design, Mayumi Tanahashi, Akihiro Takahashi, Yoshikozu Iwanami, and Kou Otani compose the music, respectively. The anime’s soundtrack will be composed by Lantis.
A manga spin-off and a drama CD set based on the manga are also available.
