Splatoon 3 is currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch and is expected to be released in 2022.
Teasers for the Splatlands, a new area for the game, were published in early 2021. It’s a vast cry from the bustling metropolis and bizarre scenery of previous games.
The game’s new weapons, enemies, environments, and single-player campaign were all shown off in a second movie released in September 2021.
While we still don’t know everything there is to know about Splatoon 3, we’re optimistic that things will change now that we’re in its release year. Things we’d like to see and things we’ve learned so far are on our list of things to see.

Splatoon 3 Release Date
Splatoon 3 has yet to receive an official release date. however, it is largely expected to be released in 2022.
A well-known Nintendo Twitter leaker, @SamusHunter2, has revealed some information on Splatoon 3 and the debut date that Nintendo had initially intended internally.
‘I’d like to offer you a quick update on Splatoon 3,” they said. When it was first announced, Splatoon 3 was expected to be published on March 18th of this year.
The team is now working on post-launch enhancements, but there must be enough of them to allow the team to reorganize if new closures are caused by covid.
If the launch date is held constant, an announcement might be made as early as January following the holiday season, to avoid a repeat of the Animal Crossing New Horizons disaster.
We’re hoping that Nintendo will reveal more information about its upcoming game before the end of the year in anticipation of a busy year for the company in 2022.
Splatoon 3 Gameplay
Splatoon 3 continues the series’ tradition of third-person shootings. Inklings and Octolings, the playable characters from the previous game, are once again available to players.
They have ink-shooting weaponry available to them. For each weapon type, there is a distinct set of abilities: Paint rollers, known as Rollers, can ink wide areas, but they are more effective when used in close quarters battle.
Splatoon 3 introduces a slew of new weapons. They can shift into “SQUID Forms,” which allow them to mount ink-covered walls and swim through ink faster than humanoid forms can move.
Squid-shaped guns’ ink ammo can be replaced more quickly than humanoid-shaped weapons’ ammo, although the supply is limited.
This game mode, dubbed “Turf War,” pits two teams of four players against one another in an effort to cover as much ground as possible with their chosen ink color.
Paint over the opposing team’s ink, limit their movement, and deal damage over time to prevent the squid form from being used by that side’s players in order to neutralize this threat.
A weapon set is handed to each player at the start of each combat, which contains secondary and special weapons in addition to the primary weapon.
A second approach to cover the battlefield with ink is by the use of secondary weapons such as ink bombs that detonate upon impact. Strong ink-spraying weapons are available for use after a player has traversed enough terrain to qualify for their use as “special weapons.”
A player can be “splat” if they take enough damage from weapons or other forms of assault to have to reload the game from the very beginning.
Three-minute Turf War matches are fought, and the team with the most territory at the end of the match is declared the winner.
Outside of “Inkopolis,” in a place called the “Splatlands,” the “city of anarchy” Splitsville will be found in Splatoon 3’s central hub.
Like the other games in the series, this one will have a single-player campaign. An Alterna-based location will be featured in Splatoon 3’s storyline, which will be titled “Return of the Mammalians.” The return of animal species will be the focus of a one-on-one effort.
