The Outlaws, Stephen Merchant’s famous comedy-drama series, is returning to BBC One, and viewers won’t have to wait long to discover how the gang’s antics in season one will catch up with them. Season 2 premieres and features the return of Rhianne Barreto, Christopher Walken, Gamba Cole, Eleanor Tomlinson, and the rest of the cast, as well as Merchant in a supporting role as Greg.

Rhianne Barreto Plays Rani
Rani is a bright A-Level student who was caught shoplifting and received a community service order as a punishment. She had already been awarded a full scholarship to study at Oxford University when she made the decision to steal from a store.
In the hard-hitting factual drama Honour in 2020, which was broadcast on ITV, Barreto featured alongside Keeley Hawes. She has also made an appearance in the series Hanna, which airs on Amazon Prime Video, and the early lockdown experiment known as Isolation Stories.
Stephen Merchant Plays Greg
Greg is an attorney who is a member of Rani’s group of offenders. They are the ones who have been entrusted with transforming an old, run-down building into a community center for the residents of Bristol. Greg is one of the offenders in Rani’s group. In addition to being socially awkward, he is currently going through a divorce.
Merchant rose to prominence as a result of his work with Rickey Gervais, a former writing partner of his, with whom he co-created the television shows The Office, Extras, and Life’s Too Short. After they went their own ways, he went on to star in the HBO series Hello Ladies, the Marvel series Logan, and the film Jojo Rabbit, which was nominated for Oscars.
Christopher Walken Plays Frank
Frank is a career offender who has spent a significant portion of his life serving time in various prisons. As a result, he is a very absent father to his daughter, Margaret, who was born during his time spent behind bars.
The Deer Hunter, Pulp Fiction, and Catch Me If You Can are just a few of the legendary Hollywood films in which Walken has appeared in his respective capacities as an actor. Walken is an extremely productive actor. More recently, he provided his voice for King Louie in Disney’s live-action rendition of The Jungle Book and acted in The War with Grandpa starring Robert DeNiro.
Gamba Cole Plays Christian
Christian is another person who is a part of the community service organization. He and his younger sister are doing everything they can to avoid becoming involved with the violent criminal gangs that operate in the area around their apartment building. During the first season, he and Rani became fast friends almost immediately.
Previous works by Cole include the reimagined version of Hanna that is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, the critically acclaimed horror film His House that is available on Netflix, and the Sky fantasy series A Discovery of Witches.
Darren Boyd Plays John
John is a local businessman who is under a lot of pressure with his family business and who thinks that community involvement is beneath him. He says this because he feels that helping the community is beneath him.
Boyd is a well-known actor on British television due to the fact that he has appeared in a number of productions for Sky in the past, some of which include Spy, Fortitude, and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man. His most recent roles were in the television shows Killing Eve and The Salisbury Poisonings. His film roles include Bridget Jones’s Baby and The Personal History of David Copperfield.
Clare Perkins Plays Myrna
Myrna is one of the other volunteers who participate in the community service organization. Her political ideas lean to the left, whereas John’s beliefs lean more to the right, which leads to frequent disagreements between the two of them.
As Denise Boulter in the soap opera Family Affairs on Channel 5 and Ava Hartman in the soap opera EastEnders on BBC One, Perkins is most known for her work in the soap opera genre. She was also recently seen in the fantasy drama “The Wheel of Time,” which is available on Amazon Prime Video.
Eleanor Tomlinson Plays Gabby

Jessica Gunning Plays Diana
Diana is the officer in charge of supervising the group as they complete their community service requirements under Diana’s watchful eye. She is adamant about keeping them in line and is prepared to resort to some severe punishments in order to accomplish this goal.
Gunning made her comeback in the role of pub barmaid Jan in the second season of the sitcom Back that was created by David Mitchell and Robert Webb. In addition to that, she has been in the television shows Prime Suspect 1973, Fortitude, Inside No. 9, and Law & Order: UK.

Dolly Wells plays Margaret
Margaret is the daughter of Frank, who has not been there for his daughter throughout the years and as a result has had a challenging childhood. Margaret is now an adult. She allows him to stay at her house for the duration of his community service, although she does so with some reluctance.
Wells received acclaim in 2020 for her performance as Van Helsing in Steven Moffat’s revised version of Dracula, and she then went on to play Aunt Sadie in BBC One’s The Pursuit of Love. Both of these roles were shown in the same year. In the past, she has been in the popular sitcoms Peep Show and The IT Crowd in recurring roles.
Nina Wadia Plays Shanthi
Shanthi is Rani’s mother, and she adores daughter and is overjoyed that she has been accepted on a full scholarship to Oxford University. When her daughter is arrested for shoplifting, she becomes quite afraid that this fantastic chance would be lost to her.
Wadia is best recognized for her six-year stint as Zainab Masood on the BBC serial series EastEnders. She has also appeared in various comedic films, including Goodness Gracious Me and Still Open All Hours, as well as a minor role in Disney’s latest live-action adaptation of Aladdin. She appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, but was the first celebrity to be voted off.
