Is there still a Season 2 of The Society Planned?

With comparisons to Lord of the Flies, Netflix’s original series The Society was a major hit with subscribers when it premiered in 2019 to critical acclaim. There were many people who were curious about when the second season of the sci-fi mystery thriller The Society was going to be made available on Netflix.

According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed the series for a second season and the eagerly anticipated next episode will be released before the end of 2019.

However, Netflix informed The Hollywood Reporter that the second season of The Society would not be created because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Despite Netflix’s satisfaction with The Society’s performance, schedule uncertainties and cost increases to satisfy the standards for COVID-19 safety regulations, among other considerations, led to the show’s cancellation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Society’s second season will air on this Date Next Year.

The odds of something like this happening are extremely low. Until recently, the idea of the ninth season of Dexter would have been laughed at. But now that a new season is on the way, anything is conceivable.

The Society’s Second Season Cast

Allie Kathryn Newton was supposed to reprise her role as Allie in season 2 of The Society. There are a number of other cast members that are expected to return for the Netflix original series’s upcoming second season, including Toby Wallace, Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. In addition to playing Gwen, Olivia Nikkanen, who portrays the character, has been elevated to a series regular.

Since Seth Meriwether’s character Dewey killed Cassandra and was later put to death for the same crime, there was little likelihood that the two would reappear in Season 2 of The Society. In the Netflix original’s universe, though, everything is possible because of the experimentation with parallel universes in the programme.

Because the programme has been cancelled, no one knows what will happen to their favourite characters, and unless the series is revived in the future, everyone will have to guess about what may have happened if The Society season 2 had been a reality on Netflix.
