Yellowstone Season 5: Release Date, Cast, and Everything Else to Know!

Yellowstone Season 5

Yellowstone Season 5

There’s still a long way to go before Yellowstone returns to our screens, but the Duttons are back on the ranch. Season 5 of Breaking Bad will feature more episodes than ever before, as well as a mid-season break to allow viewers to recuperate from whatever craziness will be taking place on the ranch this time around.

In contrast to Season 3’s bloody, explosive cliffhanger, Season 4 ended on a much more subdued tone. Her adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) had been coerced into murdering his biological father, Garrett, by Beth (Kelly Reilly), who is the real brains behind every operation on the Yellowstone ranch (Will Patton). By the end of Season 3, Garrett (Kevin Costner) had ordered the attempted assassinations of John (Kevin Costner) and Beth (Beth Grant), as well as Kayce (Luke Grimes). With the evidence of the crime in hand, Beth now has a candidate for Governor in her sights. When Rip (Cole Hauser), Beth’s father’s new vegan friend from prison, unexpectedly weds her, it’s clear that this is now Beth’s world and everyone else is simply coping.

Beth’s quest for world/Montana dominance is complicated by Kayce’s recent spiritual journey, which has shown him two possible paths. At least one of those options would lead to “the end of us,” as he later told Monica (Kelsey Asbille). Regardless of what that means, the wait for Season 5 becomes even more difficult.

For now, here’s all the information you need to know.

Release Date

On Sunday, November 13, Yellowstone will return to Paramount Network just in time for the holiday season.

Release Schedule

Two swaths of seven episodes each will make up Season 5, with a total of 14 episodes. It’s the most exciting season yet, but we don’t yet know how long the midseason break will be.

Cast

There’s no need to worry; everyone from the original cast will be back. Kelly Reilly as Beth, Luke Grimes, and Wes Bentley as Kayce and Jamie, Kevin Costner as John Dutton and Monica and Brecken Merrill as Tate and Carter, and Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater round out the cast. Teeter (Jen Landon), who has been promoted to series regular, will also be back in the bunkhouse with Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Ryan Bingham, and Jen Landon.

Jefferson White will reprise his role as Jimmy’s fiancée Emily, played by Kathryn Kelly, who has been elevated to series regular status. Because he chose the Four Sixes over Yellowstone, the reformed trouble magnet will be around in some form.

Prequels and Spinoffs

Taylor Sheridan shows about ranchers are no longer confined to Yellowstone, and it’s unlikely that they will ever be again. 1883, a Paramount+ prequel miniseries, told the story of the Dutton family’s arrival in Montana. They were on their way to Oregon when John Dutton’s grandfather John Solder .’s sister Elsa (Isabel May) was accidentally shot by a stray arrow. To honor her father James (Tim McGraw), the Dutton family moved to a beautiful valley in Montana. With David Oyelowo playing the legendary first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi Reeves, 1883: Bass Reeves will be a spin-off of the original. Despite his former servitude, this former slave managed to apprehend over 3,000 criminals without ever suffering any physical harm.

By the end of December, a drama about the next Dutton generation caring for their ranch during the Great Depression and the repeal of Prohibition will be released to follow up on the success of 1883. However, it has not been confirmed that Ford will portray John Sr., or perhaps another unknown Dutton closer to his actual age of 79 (if he’s playing a Dutton at all) in that show. In 1932, John Sr. would only be in his 50s or 60s, so we’ll have to wait to learn more about him.

Also, Sheridan is currently working on a Yellowstone spin-off called 6666, which takes place on an actual historic Four Six ranch in Texas (which Sheridan owns) and focuses on that ranch’s history and how it continues to function today. It will be shown on Paramount Network alongside the original show.

A new season of Yellowstone will air on Paramount Network in the fall of 2019.
