iPad Pro 2022: M2 Chip
The M2 chip has made its way to the iPad Pro after making its debut in the MacBook Air 2022(opens in new tab).
Apple claims that the new M2’s 8-core CPU is up to 15% faster than the previous M1 chip in last year’s model. Apple claims that the chip also includes upgrades to its efficiency cores and 10-core GPU, which should result in 35% faster graphics performance.
Finally, the 16-core Neural Engine can process approximately 40$ more operations per second than the M1 iPad Pro, implying that the iPad Pro (2022) should be significantly better at handling machine learning tasks.
iPad Pro 2022: Design
The iPad Pro 2022 retains the same design and form factor as its predecessor.
Apple continues to offer the 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro models with the same size, dimensions, and camera array as the previous year’s model. Although the iPad Pro 2022 can record ProRes video up to 4K at 30 frames per second, the 2021 model could not.
