Bonnie Raitt shocked everyone in attendance on Sunday by winning the Grammy for song of the year. The singer-songwriter competed against Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Adele, and Harry Styles, all of whom are younger, more well-known performers. Raitt, however, was the recipient of the award for her song “Just Like That.” She looked genuinely astonished when first lady Dr. Jill Biden introduced her as the winner.
Oh my God, she exclaimed as she entered the podium for her award speech. I’m very shocked. I am at a loss for words. Just an unbelievable time right now. She continued, “I don’t compose many songs, but I’m so glad that you appreciate this one and what it means for me and for the other songwriters.
