What Will Happen In The Third Movie?

We don’t know where Eddie Brock will go in Venom 3, but we bet the Spider-Man: No Way Home events will play a role.  In an interview with Screen Rant, director Andy Serkis said,

“I know everyone is desperate for Venom to meet Spider-Man. I know that. But I think there’s real mileage in some of the other supervillains that reside in Ravencroft. There’s such fertile ground to be uncovered there. That would be the sandbox I’d be really interested in playing in. Who’s lurking in there that could break out?”

Who knows, maybe Morbius will also have an impact on the story. We’d prefer it not to happen.

What Has Happened So Far In The Venom Films?

Venom (2018): Eddie Brock is fired from his job as an investigative journalist in the first installment of Marvel’s anti-hero franchise after attempting to discredit tech mogul Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). Drake’s nefarious symbiotic experiments lead to Brock’s encounter with Venom, an outer-space organism that requires a human host to survive.

The two work together to bring Drake to justice for his crimes, discovering that they are more alike than they thought. After the dust settles, Brock visits serial killer Cletus Kassidy (Woody Harrelson) in prison, though he may come to regret it.

Let There Be Carnage (2021): Eddie Brock is still in contact with Cletus Kassidy shortly after the events of Venom. Kassidy later attempts to attack Brock after giving him newsworthy features to write about his crimes, prompting Venom to protect him. Kassidy later unleashes the deranged symbiote Carnage into the world after revealing Brock’s own secret and tasting his blood. Kassidy’s troubled past comes back to haunt him as childhood flame Frances Berrison/Shriek joins him on his rampage.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2021): Eddie Brock was transported to the MCU 616 universe in the after-credits of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Brock is still on the run from authorities after defeating Carnage in the post-credits scene of No Way Home. He’s perplexed to learn of Spider-Man and other Avengers members’ existence. Before attempting to track down Spider-Man, Brock is transported back to the Sony Pictures universe, thanks to Doctor Strange’s magic that temporarily restores the multiverse.

As Venom defeats Carnage, Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham) is caught in the crossfire, though it is suggested that Mulligan may undergo a symbiotic transformation of his own, possibly becoming Toxin in a future film.
