Originally published as: We learned in late 2020 that Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, was stepping down from the company. In the end, Pei announced that he was starting a new company called Nothing. Nothing Ear 1, a pair of well-received true-wireless earbuds, was quickly released by the company with the amusing name. The Nothing Phone 1 will be available in 2022 when the company plans to release its second hardware product.
These are the current details we have on the Nothing Phone 1. When the phone finally arrives, there are a few things we’d like to see implemented.

When Will the Nothing Phone 1 Release Date Be?
After months of speculation, Nothing finally announced a debut date on June 8, 2022. On July 12, 2022, the Nothing Phone 1 will be released, and at 11:00 AM ET on that date, an event dubbed “Return to Instinct” will take place.
Although the corporation withheld any additional release information, we anticipate that a market release will occur soon after the launch event
If you live in the US, don’t count on being able to use the phone straight quickly or at all. The business has declared that it would not introduce Phone 1 in the US. Before being made freely available, the device will also be sent to Nothing’s community members and early backers. Phone 1 will be offered through an invitation-only system because the business stated that they will initially have a restricted production run.
What Features and Specs Will the Nothing Phone 1 Have?
Phone 1’s design has been kept under wraps. However, the hardware specifics are still being kept under wraps by the corporation. Expect the corporation to keep pumping out the buzz until the phone’s release date. For now, here’s everything we know about the next event.
Design
The translucent housing of the Nothing Ear 1 earbuds was expected to be used for Nothing’s first smartphone. Nothing was able to validate this as of May 24. This was accomplished through an interview with I.M. Pei and his co-designer, Tom Howard, in Wallpaper.
Videos showing Nothing Phone 1’s design were released on June 21. On this page, you can see various promotional photographs of the phone from the firm. Phone 1’s “Glyph” – a set of LEDs on the back — can change patterns and time their illumination to music. Aside from notifications, they may also be used to charge your phone wirelessly in reverse.
When the device is plugged in, a charging progress bar (seen in the image below) illuminates at the bottom of the back cover. As a fill light for cameras, the entire back can be illuminated simultaneously. There’s no guarantee that this will also make it easier for users to create their effects.
Some purported photos of the Nothing Phone 1 in a black hue were published by WinFuture on June 29. Nothing seems to be able to provide customers the option of a white or black phone, at least not yet. The following are screenshots of the hacked images:
As far as we know, the first phone from Nothing will come with a slew of protective cases. These cases, on the other hand, will showcase the phone’s design rather than conceal it. While the design of these cases is still a mystery, it’s comforting to know that you won’t have to compromise on your phone’s aesthetic to keep it secure.

Specs and features
The phone will include a dual-camera system on the back, but we don’t know anything else about it. Tipster Yogesh Brar, on the other hand, said it will include a 50MP primary camera and a 16MP ultrawide sensor.
It was confirmed on July 6 that the phone had an in-display fingerprint sensor through Nothing’s TikTok video. Before unlocking the gadget, the scanner’s outline is shown in this video. A snapshot of the video has been provided for your viewing pleasure.
The TikTok account belonging to Nothing confirmed that the device has a refresh rate of 120Hz. On July 6, a video surfaced showing the activation of a “smooth display” feature, which mentions a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Take a look at this screenshot.
TUV certification shows that Phone 1 would have 33W wired charging, despite earlier rumors that the phone would have 45W wired charging.
Sadly, that’s all we know about the phone at this point. To our good fortune, several leaked images and specifications for the Phone 1 have surfaced online. A 16MP front-facing camera and a 4,500mAh battery are reportedly said to be included. All of these specifications remain unconfirmed.
What Will the Nothing Phone 1 Price Be?
The Nothing Phone 1’s reported price has been the subject of numerous unsubstantiated rumors. Since the sources are either ambiguous, weak, or altogether unmentioned, we haven’t given them any credence.
Amazon, meanwhile, may have disclosed the European price in late June, with the 8GB/128GB model costing €469.99 (around $491). €549.99 (about $575) was the price for the 12GB/256GB model. In any case, there’s always the possibility that these numbers are fictitious.
These price tags are true, but we’ve already expressed our desire for the phone to be inexpensive, so we hope they’re closer to the truth or even lower.
Finally, it has been confirmed that Nothing would manufacture Indian versions of the Nothing Phone 1 in India. This is fantastic news for that market because it means that the phone will likely be cheaper than it would be if it were manufactured elsewhere.
Nothing Phone 1: What We Want to See
Since Pei’s departure, OnePlus has undergone a major transformation. If you think that’s a good thing or not, it’s apparent that Pei had a significant impact on OnePlus’s early success. With such high expectations for Pei’s debut smartphone and the return of OnePlus’s original attitude, many fans are looking forward to Nothing.
After numerous leaks and official revelations, there’s not much left to speculate about the handset. However, there is still something we would like to see from Nothing Phone 1.
A Price-appropriate Camera
For a $1,000+ phone, a 100MP+ wide-angle lens and a periscope would be out of the question. We can’t honestly say we’re hoping for that. The price leaks indicate that Nothing isn’t going the premium route.
For now, we’re looking to see if the phone’s price is by its camera hardware and the quality of the images produced by that hardware. You need an ultrawide lens like the Google Pixel 6 if you’re looking at a smartphone that costs between $500 and $600.
A camera app is also required by nothing. However, OnePlus has a reputation for poor camera quality because its earlier products were so bad. Despite this, OnePlus is expected to deliver an excellent smartphone camera experience in 2017. Phone 1’s camera must be at least competent on launch day to avoid making the same error again.
That’s all we’re looking for in the Nothing Phone 1.0. What’s the one thing you’re most looking forward to? Please let us know in the comments if you do. for the latest updates follow our site dailyrealtime.com
