National French fry day
“French fries,” or “chips,” is a term used to describe deep-fried potato batons known as “finger chips.” There is no denying that they are ubiquitous in fast-food restaurants and adored by all ages, no matter what we call them.
Fries go well with any number of sauces and toppings, including ketchup, ranch dressing, vinegar, mayonnaise, honey mustard, and a slew of others. In addition to making great fries, sweet potatoes may also be found in many cuisines across the country. Curls, waffles, crinkles, and tornado cuts are some of the baked types.
Chefs and home cooks use a variety of seasonings to enhance the flavor and spiciness of their fries, as well as a variety of sauces. A crisped potato may suit a variety of palates, whether you add a little garlic and onion powder or heat it cajun style. We like to add jalapenos and chili or nacho cheese to our tacos. It all depends on the type of fries that we’re preparing and how many ingredients we add to them.

As a result of the American soldiers’ arrival in Belgium during World War I, some believe that the term “French” was introduced to the potatoes. American soldiers may have started referring to fried potatoes as “French fries” because French was the Belgian Army’s official language at the time.

To move National French Fry Day to a different date, Checkers and Rally’s fast-food restaurants have started a petition with the National Day Calendar. Today, the day is observed on July 13. There is a desire to move it up to the second Friday in July. As a result, National FryDay was born. Cal, our calendar mascot, advised us to allow them to try to change the day, so we agreed.
