The sixth volume was used for the final two episodes because that’s the sequence in which they were adapted.

This means that the source material and the anime version are separated by a short distance. It’s safe to assume that the filmmakers will hold off on releasing their film until the novel has released at least two volumes. There isn’t enough material for a full season’s worth of adaptations at the time.
