Bride Rosney Cause of Death: How Did She Die?

Bride Rosney, a powerful figure and former special adviser to ex-President Mary Robinson, died unexpectedly in her sleep on September 21, 2023. Her death was reported on social media by her brother, Michael Rosney. Notably, she served as Director of Communications for RTÉ, Ireland’s national broadcaster, from 2001 until 2009.

Born in Kerry and raised in Dublin, Ms. Rosney attended the Dominican College on Eccles Street before pursuing her education at Trinity College Dublin and UCD, where she studied computer science and practice, respectively.

When the cause of death was proven to be natural, all speculations were put to rest, and her brother, Michael Rosney, said it struck a chord with the kind of calm farewell she would have wanted for herself.

She was the principal of Rosmini Community School in Drumcondra when she resigned to work full-time with the then-president Ms. Robinson after her 1990 election. She was a certified educator and education researcher. Seven years later, she remained an indispensable advisor.

Ms. Rosney continued to work with Ms. Robinson after she left the job to become the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and she later served as the Mary Robinson Foundation for Climate Justice’s secretary of the board of trustees and CEO for a short time.
