Cobra Kai season 5 release date
Netflix has confirmed that the fifth season of Cobra Kai will premiere on September 9. Normally, the show’s episodes are released between December and January. The entire season is expected to be released all at once. Seasons aren’t being split like on Stranger Things.
As promised, here is the first look at what to expect from the upcoming fifth season of Cobra Kai.
All Valley Karate Championship – a tournament that saw Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang close in contentious circumstances following the controversial victory for Tory and Cobra Kai in the finals – follows on.
Terry Silver appears to be plotting to open multiple locations of the dojo across the valley, as suggested by the trailer. Daniel LaRusso is retaliating, and he’s enlisted the help of an old rival in Chozen to get the fight back to Silver.
Season 5 of Cobra Kai isn’t just about karate shenanigans in L.A. At the end of the fourth season, Miguel ran away from home in search of his father, and Johnny and Robby set out to find him.
Cobra Kai season 5 cast
Several characters have been shown in the trailer. As a result of the return of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will also return. Both Courtney Henggeler and Vanessa Rubio will reprise their roles in the show as Amanda LaRusso and Carmen Diaz.

The devil is in the details Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and John Kreese (Martin Kove) are expected to return in season 5 (after a possible prison stint, of course – more on that in a moment).
During the final moments of season 4, it was revealed that Yuji Okumoto, who first appeared in The Karate Kid 2 in season 3, will reprise his role as Chozen in season 5.
Peyton List, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Xolo Mariduea will reprise their roles as Samantha LaRusso, Miguel Diaz, and Robby Keene, respectively.
In addition to Hawk, Gianni DeCenzo, Peyton List, Tory Nichols, Kyler Park, Selah Austria, and Piper, all of these actors have either been confirmed in advance of the film or are expected to return in some capacity in the final product. This includes both new and returning cast members like Jacob Bertrand and Gianni DeCenzo.
Griffin Santopietro will return as Anthony LaRusso, and Dallas Young, who made his television debut as Kenny Payne, has been promoted to series regular, according to Deadline(opens in new tab).
Kim Da-Eun, a South Korean sensei who is part of Silver’s plans for Cobra Kai’s growth, has been cast as Alicia Hannah-Kim by Deadline. Ominous.
After a surprise appearance as Stingray in season 4, it’s unclear if Paul Walter Hauser will return.
Cobra Kai Season 5 plot
We’ll see what happens in season 5 as a result of Cobra Kai’s paradigm shift in Season 4. All Valley’s All-Valley tournament was won by Cobra Kai, who took the girls’ side and the overall prize with the help of Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang (or Miyagi-Fang). Terry Silver has promised to open new dojos all over the Valley in the wake of his big win, which will make it even more difficult for the Cobra Kais to come back next season.
It’s going to be a fight, too. Daniel LaRusso still intends to bring down Cobra Kai despite his agreement to stop teaching karate if Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang fails to win the tournament. In this case, he’s enlisted the aid of Chozen. Daniel has given a secret (and very effective) Miyagi-Do technique by Chozen when they met again, so it’s safe to assume that the former antagonist will continue to surprise us this season. The partnership between Silver and the Cobra Kais, as hinted at in the trailer, is also likely to pose a serious challenge.
One of our favorite characters in the franchise, co-creator Jon Hurwitz told GamesRadar+, “Chozen is back in this one.” “Yuji [Okumoto] and Ralph [Macchio] had some of our favorite karate and comedy scenes in season 3 when he returned in the third season. We’re enamored with the dynamic he creates and all he has to offer. Beyond that, he’s dealing with his demons and struggles. So he’s a fully realized character, and what better time to join the fight in the Valley than when Terry Silver is on top? Because Terry Silver is, as we all know, a formidable foe… Bringing in Chozen, who has a history of fighting to the death and fearlessness and appears to be more skilled and a karate threat than Daniel, at this point, it felt like it was great for season 5 to have Chozen and Silver as opposing forces.”
For the time being, John Kreese is out of the picture. Silver framed Kreese for the brutal beating he gave Stingray at the end of the season, and he was arrested for it. It’s unclear how Kreese’s season will pan out now that he’s reportedly been sentenced to prison. Although he’s been known to be tough to beat, don’t write him off just yet. Whether or not he can deal with Silver betraying him and threatening his former prize pupil Johnny Lawrence, we’ll have to see.
Meanwhile, Johnny is on the prowl for Miguel’s whereabouts. To get there, they’ll have to travel to Mexico, where Miguel has been searching for his father. Johnny’s son, Robby Keene, appears to be a potential stumbling block to reconciling with Miguel. The relationship between Robby and Miguel isn’t exactly smooth sailing as the two travel south of the border together, but it could bring the three characters closer to putting their differences behind them for good.
Students of Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai have less certainty about their futures. No doubt the Miyagi-Do kids will continue their karate training at Daniel’s dojo. Cobra Kai is also growing, but it appears that some students will be leaving in season 5. Tory Nichols, the All Valley champ, might be considering defecting from the dojo as well, especially after overhearing a conversation that proved the tournament was rigged in favor of Cobra Kai and as she and Amanda LaRusso grew closer throughout the season.
Since Johnny will be in Mexico for at least part of the season, Eagle Fang will likely continue his training at Miyagi-Do. It’s unclear at this point whether any of the students will honor their agreement with Cobra Kai and stop training in karate.
One thing is for sure: Season 5 is going to be a wild ride. “Season 5 just wrapped up filming. That’s how it came to be that the season five finale isn’t just bigger, but also more action-packed than ever before “GamesRadar+ spoke with co-creator Hayden Schlossberg.
“As a result, things have evolved in this manner. Our hopes are high for the future of the show, because we didn’t write season five as an end, and we see that in subsequent seasons “He goes on. “Another is on the way. Some of our largest fireworks and cannons are still in use today. As a result, we’re confident that we’re working on something truly monumental. There is a sense of, “How do we top this each season?” Fans will be interested as long as it is grounded in character, but we don’t want it to devolve into a show that is more about showmanship than story. That, then, is the ultimate objective.”
There may be some cameos from the larger Karate Kid universe after all if you keep an eye out. According to Hurwitz, there will be “a lot of karate” in the film. “There’s going to be a lot of insanity,” Hurwitz told Deadline (opens in new tab).

Is Cobra Kai season 5 the final season?
The show’s creators, Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg, and Jon Hurwitz, have stated that there will be the sixth season, but there hasn’t been an official announcement yet.
At times, “it’s changed,” Heald told Collider, “but it also hasn’t” (opens in new tab). “Still, we have a game plan in place for the end. beyond season five, we are still writing. Welcoming new characters and plot lines have been a lot of fun.”
That’s what Hurwitz said “We never stated how many seasons there would be from the beginning. At least six landings were always in our heads, but we’re still trying to figure out exactly how long that landing should be for the reasons Josh mentioned.”
Schlossberg told Deadline that the series could even extend beyond a possible sixth film. “We have a goal in mind,” he replied. “We don’t know how many seasons it will take to get there. As a team, we’re having a great time making it.” A few more seasons are already planned out if it becomes too much for them, he said.
Season 4 of Cobra Kai is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most popular series ever, so the future of the show is looking bright.
