In the last few decades, virtually everyone who has used a Windows computer has at some point played a game of Solitaire. Playing this game while supposed to be working may have cost you precious time.
For years, Windows PCs came pre-installed with a game called “Solitaire,” but in Windows 10, Microsoft added a new game called “Solitaire Collection.” The basic game is included, as well as a few new variations. That package of games is now available for Android and iOS users to download.
When Windows 3.0 was released in 1990, Microsoft included Solitaire as part of the operating system as a free download. Developed by an intern in 1989, Wes Cherry’s game wasn’t only for fun.
As a graphical user interface was still a novelty for most people in 1990, the goal of Solitaire was to give users a method to practise basic tasks in that environment. Think about it—in order to move the cards around the screen in Solitaire, you’ll need to utilise a mouse. It’s still one of the most popular Windows games to this day.
Despite the fact that Microsoft Solitaire is no longer a training tool, it is still a pleasant little time-killer. The mobile version of Solitaire Collection is available for free, however some in-app purchases are required. There’s no doubt about it:
