She Was Suffering From Kidney Failure

Lily-Rose had a close call with death in 2007. The seven-year-old was hospitalized for nine days after suffering kidney failure as a result of E coli food poisoning. The following year, after the “darkest period of his life” was over, Johnny donated US$2 million to the Great Ormond Street Hospital, as he stated during an interview on The Graham Norton Show. “They said her kidneys had failed and she would be lucky to live. “For nine days, we sat by her bed and refused to move until she began to pull through,” he recalled in 2015.

She Fought Anorexia

As a child, Lily-Rose also endured anorexia. In 2016, she disclosed for the first time her struggle with an eating disorder. She admitted in an interview that she was disturbed by Instagram comments that were critical of her appearance. “It saddens me because when I was younger, it was difficult to escape it. Everyone who has experienced this illness knows how difficult it is to recover from it. She told Elle France, “I have been trying to gain weight for a long time and I am very pleased with my progress.”
