Smithfield man has been arrested on suspicion of drugging and raping a teen girl

According to police, a 20-year-old Smithfield man was arrested and charged with raping a 16-year-old girl after supplying her with drugs and alcohol. Manny Bald Eagle was booked into the Cache County Jail on Wednesday and is currently being held without bail.

Bald Eagle was arraigned in 1st District Court on Friday via webcam from jail. He was charged with rape, object rape, and forcible sodomy, all of which are first-degree felonies, as well as furnishing alcohol to a minor, which is a class A misdemeanour.

Cache County Deputy Attorney Andrew Crane said the alleged victim described to police how Bald Eagle supplied her alcohol and marijuana. He then raped her repeatedly.

Crane asked the court to hold Bald Eagle without bail. He explained how the suspect was already on probation for drug distribution and had multiple other arrests recently.

Defense attorney Ashley Bown asked the court for time to review the evidence before arguing bail for her client.
