The days of ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah’ at Disney parks in the United States are coming to an end, which is why people are forming large lineups this weekend for one more ride. Hundreds of Disneyland and Disney World visitors shared images and videos. On Saturday and Sunday, they may be seen queuing for their chance to climb aboard a log and ride Splash Mountain one more time before it closes for good on Monday.
Expected to Reopen Sometime In 2024
The original fan-favorite ride will be rebuilt into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a spin on the film ‘The Princess and the Frog,’ which includes a swampy New Orleans backdrop. That version is expected to reopen in 2024, thus SM will be down until then.

In wake of the closure, ticket buyers are flocking to the attraction like never before, with queues stretching across the park. Hundreds of people are involved.
It’s unclear how long the wait will be, but we’re guessing at least a couple of hours. The riders, on the other hand, don’t seem to mind; after all, this is the last chance anyone will have to enjoy Splash Mountain in its original form… and it appears Disney fans want their fill.

Splash Mountain has been around since the late 1980s and has become a must-see attraction for many visitors to any Disney resort. The water ride is inspired by the 1946 live-action/animated film ‘Song of the South,’ and features all of the film’s ‘Br’er’ characters, including Rabbit, Fox, and Bear.
Splash Mountain is being rebuilt because the original film and characters were deemed problematic, especially because they romanticize the ancient South and play into stereotypes about African-Americans, among other things. It hasn’t aged well in the twenty-first century. There are more articles like this if you want to see then check this one Pete Alonso Wife.

There has been some disagreement about whether Splash needed a makeover, but this is consistent with other changes Disney has made to old rides in recent years. The times are a-changing.
