In the end, he led authorities to where he had left her and where she had miraculously survived beyond all chances.

After being released on bail and awaiting trial, Shelton attempted suicide by overdosing on antidepressants at his mother’s residence. Shelton allegedly spits on a deputy and kicked hospital staff when doctors and deputies arrived to help him.
