The release date for the Overwatch 2: Invasion PvE story update is expected to arrive later this year, and a lot of people are curious about when it will be available and what time they will be able to start playing it.
Overwatch 2 Invasion will feature new player versus environment (PvE) story missions, a new main player versus player (PvP) game mode, a new support hero, and many methods to level up your hero’s abilities. Overwatch 2 Season 6 Invasion Be Released?
Overwatch 2 Season 6 Invasion will be starting on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11:15 AM PT. This is a departure from the normal seasonal content schedule, which typically sees new seasons start on a Tuesday. However, Blizzard has not yet announced a reason for the change.
Season 6 Invasion will bring with it a new support hero, a new permanent game mode called Flashpoint, as well as two new maps: New Junk City and Survasa. It will also include new story missions for the PvE mode.

The start time for Season 6 Invasion will vary depending on your region. Here is a list of the start times for some major regions:
- Pacific Time: 11:15 AM
- Eastern Time: 2:15 PM
- Central European Time: 7:15 PM
- Indian Standard Time: 23:45 PM
If you are eager to start playing Season 6 Invasion, you can preload the update starting on August 9. This will allow you to jump right in as soon as the season starts.
Overwatch 2 Season 6 New Hero
According to Blizzard’s official Overwatch 2 roadmap, the new hero joining the game in Season 6 will be a support hero. While Blizzard has already added two new supports to Overwatch 2, Kiriko and Lifeweaver, the support role still has the fewest heroes in the game. Introducing another support as the next Overwatch 2 hero will provide more choice in support styles and who to play.
So far, this is all we know about the new hero, but we’ll keep a watch out for leaks and will update this as soon as we learn more.
Overwatch 2 Season 6 Story Missions
Season 6 of Overwatch 2 brings new content in the form of the much-anticipated story missions. These will be PvE-based co-op narrative adventures in which you and your friends will select from a set of characters for each mission and combat Null Sector, the evil organization causing devastation on several cities.
There will be three missions, each with its own map – Rio de Janeiro, Gothenburg, and Toronto. Players will fulfill multiple complex objectives while combating diverse Omnic foes of varying strength on these maps. The devs have confirmed the addition of two new, more powerful enemy types to story missions: the Artillery and the Stalkers.
On King’s Row, there is also a bonus task that involves your crew escorting a bot to save the Omnic Underworld from Null Sector. The missions’ tales will be accompanied by cinematics to help you catch up on Overwatch mythology and comprehend what’s going on in each of the cities you’ll be battling in. The story missions from Overwatch 2 will be included in the $15 Invasion Bundle.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 Hero Mastery
Overwatch 2’s training modes haven’t changed much since the original Overwatch was published in 2016, which is why the upcoming Overwatch 2 hero mastery mode is so exciting. Hero Mastery is a single-player game mode that features several training courses for specific heroes. The mode is intended to help players refine their abilities with each hero and gain a better knowledge of which characters are most suited to their playstyles.
The courses will have obstacles, enemy bots, and coins that you must overcome in order to develop your mastery of each hero. The goal is to complete each course as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to improve your score.
Don’t worry if you already consider yourself a veteran of the game; this mode has something for you to do as well. The world leaderboard displays the top players for each hero in hero mastery mode. Go out there and take the lead. While the hero mastery mode will be available in Season 6, it will not be available until around a month after the season begins.
Overwatch 2 Season 6 Flashpoint Game Mode
With the release of Overwatch 2, the Push game mode replaced Assault (also known as Two Control Point) as a permanent game mode in competitive and unranked play. However, the addition of the new Flashpoint game mode appears to be a nod to Assault, but with a twist that makes it more interesting.
The teams will compete for control of numerous points on the map in Flashpoint. After capturing one point, another will be unlocked at a random position on the map. The goal is to be the first team to score three points. Capturing control points will be a more balanced experience for both teams because the locations of each control point are randomized.
During the Season 6 announcement webcast, game director Aaron Keller stated that the goal for Flashpoint was to make each point entirely balanced and fair, rather than giving the team that captured any given point an edge. Suravasa and New Junk City are the two new Flashpoint maps we know about so far.
