The Super Mario Bros. Movie is the first film in which Nintendo’s spokesperson has appeared. In this new version, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic have created an entertaining, fast-paced, but overly cliched adaptation, though they could have been more inventive.

Release Date of the Super Mario Bros
The Super Mario Bros. Movie may now be screened in theaters around the globe. The release date of the film was pushed back and changed several times before it was finally determined for over 60 markets worldwide, including the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

Elsewhere, The release of the movie Super Mario Bros. is slated for a number of dates in April and May throughout regions in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, with the release date in Japan being set for April 28 to coincide with the Golden Week Holiday period.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has received a wide range of reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, the Mario movie currently has a 98% audience rating compared to a 54% critic rating. In our review of What To See, we awarded the film three out of five stars and stated that it was “a fun, fast-paced, but overly familiar rendition that could have used a little more innovation along the way.”
As Nintendo’s first significant attempt to master filmmaking, Christopher Cruz of Rolling Stone stated, “It’s a carefully crafted starting point with the potential for expansion.” IGN gave the film an 8/10 rating, describing it as “a fireball of animated fantasy, overcoming a Paper Mario-thin plot with undeniable charm and energy.”

Storyline Of The Super Mario Bros.
Universal Pictures has provided the following official summary of The Super Mario Bros. Movie: “While repairing a water main underground, plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt; Jurassic World and The LEGO Movie franchises) and Luigi (Charlie Day; It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are transported through a mysterious pipe into a fantastical new world. However, when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on a valiant search for Luigi.
Toad, a native of the Mushroom Kingdom (Keegan Michael-Key; The Lion King), and Princess Peach, the kingdom’s stubborn monarch (Anya Taylor-Joy; The Queen’s Gambit), assist Mario in gaining control of his own strength.”
The trailer also gives the impression that Bowser is gathering Power Stars and assembling an army to launch an assault on the kingdoms of the Mario universe. Princess Peach has decided to confront him because he appears to be planning an attack on the Mushroom Kingdom next.

Who Directed The Super Mario Bros. Movie?
Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath are the directors of the forthcoming Super Mario Bros.-inspired film. Both Teen Titans Go! and Teen Titans Go! to the Movies were previous collaborations between the two.
The screenplay was written by Matthew Fogel, and the film was produced by Chris Meledandri, the founder and CEO of Illumination, and Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto.
