Storyline of Bhediya
Bhediya, produced by Dinesh Vijan, revolves around the story of a werewolf, is based on popular folklore, and is inspired by legends from Arunachal Pradesh, where the film was also shot. The film is part of Vijan’s horror comedy universe and his second collaboration with director Amar Kaushik.

Bhediya’s Production
Dinesh Vijan, the film’s producer, confirmed that Bhediya is part of his horror comedy universe, which also includes films like Stree, Roohi, and Munjha. Munjha will play the lead in the 2018 film Stree. Bhediya is shot in Arunachal Pradesh’s Ziro (Lower Subansiri), Sagalee (Papum Pare), and parts of Pakke-Kessang districts over two months, from March to April 2021. Over 70% of the artists in Bhediya are from Arunachal Pradesh, including the protagonist, Jomin. In addition, Arunachal rapper K4 Kheko will appear in the film. He also sang and wrote the film’s theme song.
Varun Dhawan and his wife, designer Natasha Dalal, donated 1 lakh (US$1,300) to the victims of a massive fire in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap and Longding districts in April 2021 during the filming schedule. Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, also paid a visit to the set in Ziro. The filming schedule in Arunachal Pradesh concluded on April 19, 2021. The film was completed on July 10, 2021.
