Barbie Movie Trailer, Plot Details And More Info!

A live-action Barbie movie is arriving this summer after 21 years. The film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, is being billed as a feminist take on the 1950s Mattel doll, and director Greta Gerwig, who has made feminist films like Lady Bird and Little Women, seems likely to deliver.

The film’s soundtrack features Haim, Ice Spice, Tame Impala, Dua Lipa, and Ryan Gosling, as well as the film’s star-studded ensemble. Read on for everything you need to know about the live-action adaptation of Barbie, including when we can expect it to land and who else will star.

Is There A Trailer For The Barbie Film?

Yes! The complete trailer for Barbie was released on May 25th, and it looks AMAZING. Barbie loses her doll-like skills and travels to the real world with Ken, where they go rollerskating, get arrested, and learn about life outside of the dollhouse. More Barbie and Ken dolls are introduced, including Kate McKinnon’s ‘Strange Barbie’ and Will Ferrel’s.

Fans got their first decent glimpse at the Barbie cast on April 4th, when we joined Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in Barbie Land, along with a slew of other Barbies and Kens. There are famous dresses, stunning sets, and plenty of bubblegum pink. And our first teaser trailer arrived in December, giving fans their first look at Margot and Ryan in their roles as Barbie and Ken.

What Will Barbie Be About?

The Barbie tale, written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, has been kept under wraps. “A doll living in ‘Barbie land’ is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world.”

Another theory holds that Barbie and Ken visit the “real world,” where Barbie is disgusted by the sexism and misogyny she encounters and wishes to return to her idyllic plastic paradise—but Ken enjoys the real world and is conflicted between his desire to stay and his desire to be with the woman he loves.
