The John Wick franchise features a big cast of some of the most ferocious characters in film history. There is no shortage of interesting people in the sophisticated world of John Wick, including world-class assassins, suave concierges, and savvy hotel managers.
But what are these characters if not the incredible actors that bring them to life? Throughout its three-film run, the action franchise has included a slew of well-known and tremendously skilled performers. Nonetheless, no film in the blockbuster franchise has had a stronger cast or a more interesting group of characters than the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4.
John Wick: Chapter 4 will bring back some familiar faces while also introducing some new characters that will clash with the Baba Yaga. With that, here’s a rundown of the new and returning characters in the John Wick franchise, as well as the excellent cast who plays them.

John Wick: Chapter 4 – Cast and Character Guide
John Wick – Keanu Reeves
The iconic Keanu Reeves reprises his most amazing role yet, John Wick. The former hitman known as “the Baba Yaga” is currently being pursued by the High Table, sending John on a world tour in an attempt to outmaneuver the High Table and reclaim his freedom. Keanu Reeves’ performance as John Wick rejuvenated his career and established him as one of the top modern-day action heroes.
Reeves is likely best known for his appearances in The Matrix, Point Break, Speed, Constantine, and the Bill and Ted franchise, but his portrayal as John Wick blew all of his past iconic roles out of the water, and we are always delighted to see him reprise it.
Caine – Donnie Yen
Fans have been campaigning for years to get martial arts legend Donnie Yen to appear in the action-packed John Wick trilogy. Fortunately, our dream has been granted. Donnie Yen will make his John Wick: Chapter 4 debut as Caine.
Caine is a vision-handicapped High Table operative with an interesting history with John. The Hong Kong action hero who popularized MMA in Hollywood has had a storied martial arts film career. To name a few, he has appeared in the Ip Man films, Flashpoint, SPL, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Winston – Ian McShane
Winston, the fantastic hotel manager, returns to the franchise in John Wick: Chapter 4, played once again by Ian McShane. At the end of John Wick: Chapter 3, the manager of the Continental Hotel in New York, and an old friend of John’s, were last seen shooting John from the Continental Hotel’s roof. Winston, as insane as he appears, truly saved John from the High Table.
Ian McShane is most recognized for his work in television shows including BBC’s Lovejoy, Deadwood, and, of course, American Gods. Similarly, McShane has had his fair share of film work. Most notably, he appeared in Sexy Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and the first Kung Fu Panda film.
Charon – Lance Reddick
Lance Reddick returns to the franchise as the sophisticated New York Continental Hotel concierge, Charon, for what may be the final time. Lance Reddick died recently, and Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick: Chapter 4, and the rest of the cast dedicated the film to him.
Reddick is most known for his roles in classic TV shows such as The Wire and Lost, and his most recent part was in Netflix’s Resident Evil series. He will also appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and The Olympians, as well as the John Wick spin-off Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas.
The Bowery King – Laurence Fishburne
The quirky subterranean crime king, the Bowery King, returns to John’s aid once more, teaming up with him to bring down the High Table after both were left for dead. Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves have a long history together, having co-starred in The Matrix films.

Along with his outstanding performance as Morpheus in The Matrix. Fishburne has also been in great films such as Boyz n the Hood, Apocalypse Now, and What’s Love Got to Do With It, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
The Marquis De Gramont – Bill Skarsgård
The Marquis De Gramont, a brand-new character to the franchise, is a prominent member of the High Table tasked with clearing up the damage left by the previous three films.
Bill Skarsgard burst onto the scene with his frightening depiction of Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the two It films. Skarsgrd recently returned to the horror genre with his performance in Barbarian.
Shimazu – Hiroyuki Sanada
Hiroyuki Sanada is yet another renowned martial artist whose debut in the John Wick franchise fans have been anticipating, and his position as Shimazu in John Wick: Chapter 4 could not be more appropriate. Shimazu is an old acquaintance of John’s who works as the manager of the Continental Hotel in Osaka.
Hiroyuki Sanada is well known for his appearances as Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 2020, The Elder in David Leitch’s Bullet Train, and Ujio in The Last Samurai. Sanada previously collaborated with Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronin.
The Tracker – Shamier Anderson
Scott Adkins was at the top of the list of actors that fans had been waiting for to make their John Wick debut. Scott Adkins, a martial arts superstar, plays Killa, the German High Table leader. Scott Adkins is a name that most audiences will recognize, and he is a name that every action movie fan adores.
Adkins’ role as Boyka in the Undisputed films is perhaps his most iconic, but most casual audiences will recognize the action heavyweight from his performances in The Expendables 2, Doctor Strange, Ip Man 4, and his many overlooked straight-to-DVD action movies.
Katia – Natalia Tena
The John Wick films do an excellent job of fleshing out John’s interesting backstory, and John Wick: Chapter 4 dives even deeper into it by introducing audiences to Katia, John’s adoptive sister.

Many SpongeBob SquarePants fans may recognize Clancy Brown as the voice of Mr. Krabs, the manager of the Krusty Krab. Aside from that, Brown can be seen in The Shawshank Redemption as Captain Bryon Hadley.
