Cinematographer Lawrence Sher announced late in October 2022 that production on the sequel would begin in “five or six weeks’ time,” presumably late November or early December. What Does Joker Folie A Deux Mean?
The French term for a “madness of two,” or shared psychosis, is folie à deux. This term, which literally translates to “madness of two” or “delusion or mental illness shared by two people in close association,” is commonly used in both French and English to describe a specific type of mental illness.
The title suggests that the movie will delve once more into Arthur Fleck’s shattered psyche, while it might also indicate the presence of a second protagonist, a genuine person with whom Joker reveals his intentions.

As of this writing, we have no information about the story other than what can be inferred from the title (which we mentioned above). We do know, however, that the film will feature musical numbers.
In the final moments of Joker, we see Arthur locked up in Arkham State Hospital, having been probably caught after the riots that swept across Gotham City were put down. As the film ends, we see him leaving red footsteps as he dances along the hospital corridor (presumably having killed the doctor examining him).
The identity of Arthur’s opponent is another pressing issue for the next Joker sequel. In many respects, Joker’s antagonist in the first film was Joker himself.
