Dun-dun! Another year means another “Law & Order” season to look forward to. Season 22 of NBC’s long-running crime procedural created by Dick Wolf premieres in 2022-23.
The show’s six cast members have divided once again into three “Law” characters — Jeffrey Donovan as Senior Detective Frank Cosgrove, Mehcad Brooks as Junior Detective Jalen Shaw, and Camryn Manheim as Lieutenant Kate Dixon — and three “Order” characters — Hugh Dancy as Executive Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price.
Odelya Halevi as Assistant District Attorney Samantha Maroun, and Sam Waterston as District Attorney Jack McCoy. Every week, the program continues to engage in “ripped from the headlines” crime stories that keep the water cooler bubbling.

Jeffrey Donovan plays Senior Detective Frank Cosgrove.
As of Season 21, he is a series regular on “Law & Order.” Donovan is perhaps best known for his seven-season starring role as former CIA operative Michael Westen on the Emmy Award-nominated USA series “Burn Notice.”
Donovan recently completed a string of back-to-back films, including “National Champions,” directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring opposite J.K Simmons; the Western “Surrounded,” starring opposite Letitia Wright and Jamie Bell; the hostage drama “892,” starring John Boyega and Michael Kenneth Williams; and the family drama “First Love,” starring Diane Kruger.

Jalen Shaw Is Played By Mehcad Brooks
As of Season 22, he is a series regular on “Law & Order.” Brooks began his acting career in the early 2000s on television shows such as “Malcolm in the Middle” and “Cold Case.”
His breakout role was as Matthew Applewhite in “Desperate Housewives,” He later became a fan favorite as Eggs in “True Blood.” Brooks joined “Law & Order” in Season 22, filling in on the “Law” side after Anthony Anderson’s departure.
Camryn Manheim Plays Lieutenant Kate Dixon.

Jack Mccoy Is Played By Sam Waterston
As of Season 5, he is a series regular on “Law & Order.” Waterston was born in 1940 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to a language teacher father and a landscape painter mother. He attended Brooks and Groton preparatory schools before receiving a scholarship to Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962.
Waterston made his New York debut later that year at the Phoenix Theater in “Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama’s Hung You in the Closet and I’m Feelin’ So Sad.”
Over the next five decades, Waterston’s career included many film and television roles and numerous stage appearances. His awards include an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, an OBIE, and a Drama Desk Award for theater.
He also received an Academy Award nomination for his performance as journalist Sydney Schanberg in 1984’s “The Killing Fields,” as well as six Emmy nominations for his roles in “I’ll Fly Away” and “Law & Order.”
Connie Shi plays Violet Yee
Season 22 of “Law & Order” features a guest star. Shi appeared in short films and television shows in the mid-2010s before landing her big break as Melanie Bizne$$ in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” More recently, her roles as Robin in “And Just Like That” and Sarah in “Betty” led to her recurring appearance on “Law & Order.”
